The University of Trieste, Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics (DEAMS) &#8220;Bruno de Finetti&#8221; is the organizer of six online webinars from <strong>October 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020 until October 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020<\/strong>, in the framework of InnovaMare strategic project, funded by Interreg Cross Border Cooperation Italy-Croatia 2014-2020 Programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe experience a new formula for debate and scientific information, that thanks to digital technologies will allow to share the most recent developments of the sector to a wider audience\u201d declare prof. Guido Bortoluzzi from the University of Trieste, the event creator.<\/p>\n<p>For the professor of the DEAMS Department, it\u2019s relevant to share the progress of scientific research with researchers and experts of the sector, because these developments have a direct influence on their activities. Furthermore, \u201cThe authority of scientific research has to be confirmed to general public during uncertain information time\u201d Bortoluzzi says, \u201cby offering the chance to get in contact with the results, because are directly connected with the life of a city like Trieste, fully involved with its relationship with the sea\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The three days of the International Innovation Summit foresee an hybrid formula: each day will focus on one relevant thematic, that will be deepen in one technical morning meeting (\u201cTECH\u201d) from 11:00 \u2013 11:50, and one \u201cPOP\u201d meeting in the afternoon, from 17:00 \u2013 17:50.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cTECH\u201d meeting will be a moment of comparison of experts on thematics regarding marine robotic and sea pollution.\u00a0 In the afternoon, the same topic will be deepened with an educational approach, with the participation of high level speakers that will make understandable the subject matter to a non specialistic public through their experience.<\/p>\n<p>The International Innovation Summits starts with the first event on <strong>Wednesday October 28th, 2020<\/strong> at 11:00: \u201cUnderwater drones: what are they? And what can be useful for?\u201d with <strong>Diego Lazzarin<\/strong> from Saipem, <strong>Emanuele Rocco<\/strong> from Witted and <strong>Nikola Mi\u0161kovi\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0 from the University of Zagreb, moderated by Eleonora di Maria from the University of Padua. At 17:00 the NASA astronaut <strong>Umberto Guidoni<\/strong> and <strong>Ivona Cetini\u0107<\/strong> from Goddard Space Flight Center will be the protagonists of the webinar \u201cThe sea from above. Research and innovation from the space for the sea\u201d, moderated by Anna Gregorio and Guido Bortoluzzi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 29th, 2020<\/strong> the scientific appointment \u201cUsing technology to tackle sea pollution\u201d will alternate <strong>Maurizio de Pirro<\/strong>\u00a0from Castalia S.C.p.A, <strong>Apostolos Papakonstantinou<\/strong> from Marine Remote Sensing Group,\u00a0 <strong>Fabio Dalmonte<\/strong>, CEO and founder di SEADS-Sea &#8211; Defence Solutions Ltd\u00a0and <strong>Vjeran Pir\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0from the Eko Kvarner Association, moderated by Martina Rossi from Maritime Technology Cluster FVG. In the afternoon, Mitja Gialuz and Guido Bortoluzzi will go along with the sailors <strong>Margherita Pelaschier<\/strong> and <strong>Giovanni Soldini<\/strong> into the route \u201cSailing among rubbish\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The final day of <strong>October 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020<\/strong> will have, at the morning webinar \u201cLooking for an ecosystem to navigate in the global competition\u201d, <strong>Giuseppe Sarag\u00f2<\/strong>\u00a0from W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4, <strong>Raffaele Dayan<\/strong>\u00a0from HiNelson and <strong>Emir D<\/strong><strong>\u017eani\u0107\u00a0 <\/strong>from EUROPE d.o.o. interviewed by Domagoj \u0160ari\u0107\u00a0from the Croatian Chamber of Economy.<\/p>\n<p>The last event of the afternoon will be \u201cCircular Economy for a Circular Society\u201d with <strong>Andrea Illy,<\/strong> president of Illy Coffee and <strong>Jeffrey Sachs<\/strong> (to be confirmed), director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, moderated by Valentina De Marchi from the University of Padua.<\/p>\n<p>To attend the webinars it\u2019s required the reservation through the website:<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong> <a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.units.it\/innovamare\">www.units.it\/innovamare<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All the webinars will be in English.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trieste, technology and marine protection: these three elements, linked to marine robotics and new digital information of researchers and high-level speakers are the attractive elements of the International Innovation Summit.
